The work that takes a sauna from a delivered box to a finished, functional sanctuary. Each can be hired separately. Most members book them as one package — and members who buy their sauna through us get a discount on assembly.
Assembly & Site Prep
Site walk, foundation verification, professional crew, trim and finish work, level confirmation, and first-burn walkthrough. We also handle the prep that comes before the build — deck platforms, leveling, and pavers for smaller saunas. We assemble the sauna you bought from us, or the one you bought elsewhere. Both get the same build standard.
Electrical Estimates & Hookup
Heater wiring, line runs, and terminations at the sauna. Estimates handled in-house. Permits and licensed work coordinated through our Colorado electrical sub. The homeowner never pulls a permit — that responsibility stays with our licensed electrician.
Interior & Exterior Protection
Pro Saunas Sauna Wax for the interior. Osmo 410 UV Protection Oil for exterior wood you want to keep brown — a natural, water-based finish applied as a two-coat treatment with a 1-year application warranty. Both extend the wood’s life and preserve the build over time.

You don’t have to buy the unit from us to hire our crew — we assemble saunas sourced anywhere to the same standard. But when you source through Sauna Friend, you get member pricing on the sauna and a reduced rate on the assembly package. One relationship, from the model decision to the first burn.

Most members come to us before they’ve chosen a sauna. We help with the sourcing decision, source the unit through our manufacturer relationships at member pricing, and handle the build start to finish. That’s the full service.
But some members already have a sauna on the way — or already sitting in pieces in the garage. We build for them too. The assembly is the same standard either way.

Door and seal repairs, flashing, roof and panel work, heater and electrical checks, and refinishing tired exterior wood — we bring older and weather-worn saunas back to a clean, safe, well-running state. Every refurbishment is priced from a custom quote, since no two are alike.

A sauna isn’t complicated equipment. But it lives in a brutal environment — high heat, high humidity, freeze-thaw cycles, and twenty years of regular use. Build details that would survive in a normal room fail in a sauna.
Every month, we walk into installations someone else built and see the things that show up at year three or year five — bench supports under-fastened, heater guards against manufacturer spec, vapor barriers seamed the wrong direction. The details that don’t announce themselves the first week, but surface when the wood splits or the bench works loose.
The cheap install isn’t the cheap install. It’s the install plus the repair, plus the replacement, plus the warranty fight.
That’s why we specify everything: bench supports placed per the design specs, heater placement per the manufacturer’s specs, electrical that matches published guidance rather than what’s cheapest to wire. The members we work with don’t have to learn the difference between a build that holds and a build that fails — we just hand them the one that holds.

The Exterior Preservation Package.
For members who want to keep the wood brown.
Thermally modified sauna wood — Thermory, SaunaLife’s exterior cedar, Auroom’s exterior treatments — silvers naturally over time when left unfinished. The wood handles it. Many members choose that path: zero maintenance, beautiful silver patina, the look you see on Norwegian mountain cabins.
For members who want to preserve the original brown color, we apply Osmo 410 UV Protection Oil (clear) in a two-coat treatment — a natural, water-based finish with no added biocides. Prefer a different product? We’ll walk through the options.
- Surface preparation and verification of moisture content
- Two-coat application of Osmo 410 UV Protection Oil — natural, water-based, clear
- Application warranty: 1 year. If the finish fails from application or product defect within the first year, we come back and fix it.
- Recommended reapplication: every 3 to 5 years depending on sun exposure and elevation. Members who want the long-term maintenance handled can book us for the reapplication when the time comes.

- Microporous finish that lets the wood breathe — won’t crack, peel, or flake
- Strong UV protection that holds the original wood tone far longer than an untreated surface
The default for our exterior builds is natural silvering with no finish. The Exterior Preservation Package is an opt-in upgrade for members who want to hold the original color.
The Interior Wax Package.
For the inside of the sauna — the benches, the wall paneling, the door — we apply Pro Saunas Sauna Wax. A water-based, sauna-specific wax formulated to resist the heat-and-humidity environment that destroys ordinary finishes.

Pro Saunas Sauna Wax is the standard we reach for on interior wood. The Interior Wax Package is an optional add-on — choose it when you want the interior sealed and protected from the first burn.

A clean estimate depends on knowing what we’re walking into. We send members a short pre-build checklist before the quote so we can price the work honestly the first time, instead of revising it three times after.
